The Blackwing 574 is a tribute to Native American art and the 574 nations that use it to assert agency and identity. To design this pencil, Blackwing worked with Kaw, Osage, Lakota artist Chris Pappan to design a pencil that evokes geometric patterns found throughout many Native American expressions of culture.

This pencil was released with a Volume 574 Ledger Book, designed to match those used in Native American Ledger Art. The Blackwing Volume 574 contains firm graphite.

Pencils are sold in boxes of 12. Blackwing pencils are made from California incense cedar and Japanese graphite.
