The iconic Caran d’Ache pencil “Made of Switzerland.” Swiss Wood is manufactured with passion in the company’s Geneva workshops and is distinguished by elegant simplicity. Its authentically natural body is coated with a matte water-based varnish, and its cap with the white Swiss cross signals that this is no ordinary pencil; it embodies the Swiss Made ethos both literally and metaphorically.

To celebrate the beauty of Swiss forests, Caran d’Ache has created two different versions of the Swiss Wood. Consisting of pencils made from the Swiss pine forest of Grachen and the Glovelier beech, these pencils encapsulate the true aesthetics of nature.

Pencils are sold individually, and contain HB graphite. The Swiss Wood has a slightly larger diameter than your typical pencil, so I also offer a compatible KUM double-hole sharpener. I’ve also had great luck with the Carl Angel-5 crank sharpener.
